Peter Martin is a jazz pianist, composer, arranger, educator, and founder/CEO of Open Studio, a pioneering online jazz education platform serving members in over 140 countries.

Peter's performing career has taken him to six continents. He has toured and recorded with Wynton Marsalis, Dianne Reeves, Betty Carter, Christian McBride, Chris Botti, and Joshua Redman, and has appeared with the Berlin Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and New York Philharmonic. He performed and arranged on Dianne Reeves' Grammy-winning album A Little Moonlight and was the featured pianist and an arranger on the Grammy-winning Good Night, and Good Luck soundtrack, also appearing in the George Clooney film. He has performed at the White House by invitation from President Obama.

Peter attended the Juilliard School of Music and has held faculty positions at Northwestern University, Tulane University, and the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, among others. He has led workshops and master classes at institutions worldwide.

In 2015, Peter founded Open Studio, which has grown into the leading online community for jazz piano education, with over 17,000 members and instruction from artists including Fred Hersch, Ron Carter, Sullivan Fortner, and Emmet Cohen. His YouTube content has amassed over 145 million views across four channels. The New York Times has recognized his groundbreaking work in online jazz education.

Peter also co-hosts You'll Hear It with Adam Maness, a music podcast that regularly ranks in the top 10 on the Apple Podcasts Music chart.
